Big Update: Facebook Now Deletes Live Videos After 30 Days

Starting February 2025, Facebook will only keep your live videos on your Page or profile for 30 days after they’re published. During this time, you can share replays or clips as reels, delete, or download your videos. After 30 days, your live videos will be automatically removed from your Page or profile and deleted from Meta servers.

You will be notified by email and on Facebook when this change is applied to your account. Once notified, you will have 90 days to download or move your live videos to cloud storage. If you need more time, you can postpone the deletion for six months, but you can only do this once. After six months, your live videos will be permanently deleted.

Note: Live videos from memorialized accounts are not affected by this policy. The content shared by the person will remain on Facebook and be visible only to the audience with whom it was shared.

Ways to Save Your Live Videos:

  1. You can create a single file with all your live videos and download it to your device or transfer it to cloud storage.
  2. Download one or more live videos from your Page or profile’s activity log by selecting “Your live videos” and choosing a date range.
  3. You can also download individual live videos from your profile, Page, or Meta Business Suite.

Note: To download live videos, you must have full control of the Facebook account or be the original broadcaster. Learn how to download live videos.
