Ramban Police, under the leadership of SSP Ramban Shri Kulbir Singh JKPS, successfully solved a theft case in the Banihal area, arrested three accused, and recovered stolen property valued at approximately Rs. 1 lakh.
The case began on 13 February 2025 when Mudasir Hamid Malik of Krawah Banihal filed a complaint about the theft of batteries, tool kits, and other items from a yard at Karawah Banihal during the night of 11-12 February 2025. Based on the complaint, FIR No. 14/2025 under relevant sections was registered at Police Station Banihal, and an investigation was launched.
After gathering technical evidence and conducting human intelligence operations, police rounded up three suspects: 1. Imtayz Ahmed S/O Ghulam Mohd Tantray, 2. Javed Ahmed Mir S/O Ghulam Ahmed Mir, and 3. Vaqar Ahmed Mir S/O Bashir Ahmed Mir, all residents of Kharpora Banihal. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the theft.
On their disclosure, police recovered the stolen items, which were valued at over Rs. 1 lakh. The accused have been taken into police custody, and the stolen property has been seized.
