Over 1.2 Lakh Students Appear for 10th Standard Examinations in Jammu and Kashmir

Over 1.2 lakh students from Jammu and Kashmir participated in the 10th standard annual examinations across 1,300 centres .

As per the details, more than 65,000 students from the soft zones of Kashmir appeared for the Social Science paper, which began at 1:30 PM. At the same time, over 61,000 students from the soft zones of Jammu division also sat for the exam.

The examinations, which began on February 15, have seen students already appearing for additional subjects, mainly languages. However, today marked the commencement of the general subject papers.

Regarding the number of examination centres, officials reported that 1,341 centres have been established across J&K, with 672 in Kashmir and 644 in Jammu division. The exam was conducted smoothly, with all necessary arrangements in place.

Additionally, authorities informed that over 18,000 students from hard zones will appear for the Class 10 exams separately. This includes 3,500 students from Kashmir and over 15,000 from Jammu division. To accommodate them, 241 examination centres have been set up, with 43 in Kashmir and 198 in Jammu division.

In total, over 1.45 lakh students from both soft and hard zones will appear for the Class 10 exams across 1,557 examination centres, officials confirmed.
