Two JCOs Martyred In Accident; Army Pays Tributes

Two Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) were martyred in an accident in Ladakh, officials confirmed on Tuesday. Subedar Santosh Kumar and Naib-Subedar Sunil Kumar lost their lives after a water tank burst at a camp in Nyoma, located 150 km from Leh in southern Ladakh. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, and a police investigation is currently underway.

Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Suchindra Kumar paid tribute to the fallen soldiers, saluting their supreme sacrifice. “Lt Gen Kumar and all ranks of Dhruva Command salute the supreme sacrifice of bravehearts Sub Santosh Kumar and Nb Sub Sunil Kumar who laid down their lives in the line of duty in Ladakh,” the northern command shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.

The Fire and Fury Corps, based in Leh, also honored the JCOs, sharing their pictures and expressing condolences. “GOC, Fire and Fury Corps, and all ranks salute Subedar Santosh Kumar and Naib Subedar Sunil Kumar, who made the supreme sacrifice in Ladakh on February 16,” they wrote. The Corps offered deep condolences to the families of the two brave-hearts during this time of grief.
