Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the much-awaited Tulip Show-2025 at the iconic Tulip Garden in Srinagar today, marking the arrival of spring in Kashmir.
Located at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range, this garden—recognized as the largest of its kind in Asia—was officially opened to the public.
Visitors can now witness an awe-inspiring display of 1.5 million spring-blooming bulbs, featuring more than 74 varieties of tulips, along with vibrant daffodils, hyacinths, and muscari, creating a spectacular floral spectacle.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Abdullah described the Tulip Show as a celebration of Kashmir’s natural beauty and an important attraction for nature lovers from around the world. He also highlighted the region’s timeless charm and scenic landscapes, inviting tourists to explore its unmatched splendor.
While interacting with visitors, Chief Minister Abdullah welcomed them to the “Paradise on Earth,” encouraging them to share their experiences of the Tulip Garden with others upon returning to their home countries.
The opening day saw an overwhelming response, with tourists and locals alike marveling at the breathtaking floral display.
Along with the Chief Minister, the event was attended by Minister for Agriculture Javid Ahmad Dar, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, and several Members of the Legislative Assembly.
Senior officials present at the inauguration included ACS to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, DC Srinagar Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Director Floriculture Kashmir Shakeel-ur-Rehman, and other senior officers from the Floriculture Department.
